December 2011 - Congratulations to these successful students this year:

FIRST SOLO - Carl, Harman, Matt, James, Amy, Jacob and Ben all completed first solo flights during the year.


November 2011 - Airwork/Charter Air Operators Certificate renewed for 3 years. We are now researching new opportunities for airwork/charter out of Coffs following renewal of our AOC by CASA. Businesses interested in charter should contact us.


July 2011 - MAF Airvan enroute to PNG visits
July 21st saw the overnight visit of an MAF GA8 Airvan aircraft which was enroute from manufacture in Victoria to service in PNG. A number of people visited to inspect the aircraft, take a short flight or join for the MAF information presentation in the evening.

June 2011 - THEORY CLASSES COMMENCE
Wednesday evening theory classes commence 8th June, 7-9pm at our hangar training rooms. RAA Air Law will be covered during 3 classes 8th, 15th and 22nd June. Students will be able to complete the exam at the completion of the course. Further subjects will follow. Enrolments welcomed.



March 2011 - NEW CFI
After 12 months as Coffs Coast Aviation Centre's Chief Flying Instructor, Tom Strickland has stepped out of the role and handed over to Mike Jelliffe. Mike successfully completed a check with Recreational Aviation Australia to take up the role. Tom continues to be available as a Senior Instructor.








December 1011 - PPL/CPL training available in 2012
We will now be able to offer continuity of training through to PPL/CPL in 2012, in conjunction with a reputable and professional CASA approved Flight School. This will enable RAA certificated pilots to continue training with us through to gaining their PPL and CPL at Coffs. More details will be announced early 2012.



July 2011 - Flight Simulator ready for take off
A new flight simulator has been installed and is now ready for use by our flight students. It will be used for students to practice their skills and flight manoeuvres in conjunction with the in-flight training. The simulator includes a Foxbat aircraft type (on approach to Coffs airport in the photo).




July 2011 - RADIO Theory Class
A Wed evening theory class covering the RAA/PPL Radio Operator theory course is being run from 20th July for 5 weeks. Students will be able to complete the RAA exam at the end of the course and may sit the PPL exam. A Human Factors course will follow.



May 2011 - SOLO FLIGHTS
Three students from Coffs Christian Community School have made their first solo flights - click here for a link to the newspaper story about them in the Coffs Advocate. Another student has since completed his first solo.
