Coffs Coast Aviation Centre - Flight Training

Coffs Coast Aviation Centre
was approved as an independent Recreational Aviation Australia (RAA) Flight Training Facility in March 2010, and commenced flight training  at Coffs Harbour immediately. Mike Jelliffe is Chief Flight Instructor and Tom Strickland a Senior Instructor. Both are highly experienced commercial pilots and instructors in their own right, with a combined total of over 13,000 hrs flying experience. (For further information about our staff, click the Staff link above).

We are conducting flight training for Recreational Pilot Certificate in a Foxbat A22LS two seater aircraft (in photo). This aircraft is equipped with a ballistic emergency parachute rescue system as an additional safety measure - that's right, the aircraft itself has an emergency parachute!! We also have a Jabiru LSA 55 two seater available for training and private hire.

A .pdf copy of the Foxbat Checklist we use can be downloaded - find it at the end of the NEWS page.

CASA licensed Private and Commercial Pilot Licence training is available in 2012, and is conducted in conjunction with another reputable and professional Flight School. Training conducted towards a Recreational Pilot Certificate is fully credited towards PPL training.

We particularly welcome enquiries from high school and tertiary students, members of youth clubs, and other young people interested in flying. We can develop a training package suited to your needs and budget. Our curriculum trains RAAus students to Private Pilot Licence standards so that the transition to PPL and CPL for those who want to is seamless.

If you are interested in learning to fly, come in and meet us, book in for a no obligation TIF (Trial Instruction Flight) for $95, and then you can decide if and how you wish to continue.

Our Instructors can also conduct endorsement training for RAA and VH single engine aircraft including constant speed propellor, retractable undercarriage, tail wheel, low level and aircraft type conversions.

Theory training is conducted at Coffs Harbour. Check the link for Theory Courses to see what courses are currently scheduled. Individual theory tuition is available on demand.
